To design a Church right after College was heaven sent. This is another project that my friend Dan told me about, and when it became a reality, I had to thank GOD and start reading the Bible to see how this building could be an Architectural representation of the storys from the Bible. I was able to use ideas, symbols and hierarchy with in this design and deviating angles that represented the Trinity and related to the slight angles of the site. During the design process I could feel a divide with in the board. Half was for a building that represented faith, while the other wondered why it had to praise GOD? The thing that amazed me was the one who was asking the questions was an artist. It's painful to know that this design, driven by my faith was not realized. I sent the original design to a few contractors and was able to find a contractor who could build the project for double their budget, but that stopped the project. The board went back to re-design and in the end, they got half the project for double their budget. I feel blessed that I was able to design this Church, but I'm sad to know that none of their members will be able to experience GOD through Architecture.
